The University Centre Saint-Ignatius Antwerp (UCSIA) and the University Foundation for Development Cooperation (USOS) offer a fellowship to the European Leadership Programme (ELP).

UCSIA and USOS are both non-profit organizations focusing on issues of social justice. They want to contribute to a more just society through education, cooperation with civil society organizations and academic institutions in the Global South and academic research. For that purpose, UCSIA and USOS work closely together with each other and with the University of Antwerp.

We are looking for a motivated candidate from the Global South. The selected candidate will start from March 1st 2022 onwards for a 12 month assignment. The later starting point allows for preparing administrative issues, such as visa application. The candidates shall attach two recommendation letters with contact details of the referees to their application.

Concrete tasks:
1) Support USOS in facilitating the recently initiated multilateral network of partners in DR Congo, India, Morocco en Nicaragua. The fellow coordinates the process for furthering collaboration based on their shared needs and within the USOS mission of striving for social justice.

2) Follow-up on the Global penpals project of USOS. USOS will prepare the call together with the network of partners. The fellow will then facilitate correspondences between students of different countries. Eventually the correspondences will be published on the website.

3) Cooperate with the UCSIA staff for planned activities within the programme ‘Europe and Solidarity’.

4) Develop your own project within the fields of social economy, ecology, social justice from a European policy perspective and organize a public event on the chosen topic.
