UCSIA and USOS are both non-profit organizations focusing on issues of social justice who want to contribute to a more just society through education, cooperation with civil society organizations and academic institutions in the Global South and academic research. For that purpose, UCSIA and USOS work closely together with the University of Antwerp.

We are looking for a motivated candidate from the Global South. The selected candidate will start from March 1st 2022 onwards for a 12 month assignment. 

Tasks:

1) Support USOS in facilitating the recently initiated multilateral network of partners in DR Congo, India, Morocco en Nicaragua by:

• Promoting further acquaintance among the partners (online)
• Identifying the needs of the partners (research, education, outreach)
• In consultation with stakeholders, find out how an online multilateral collaboration can be meaningful for all participating partners, and this within the possibilities of USOS.

2) Follow-up on the Global pen pals project of USOS. This project allows students from different partner universities of USOS to correspond with each other on topics related to the Sustainable Development Goals.

3) Cooperate with the UCSIA staff for planned activities within the programme ‘Europe and Solidarity’.

4) Develop your own project within the fields of social economy, ecology, social justice from a European policy perspective and organize a public event on the chosen topic.

Profile:

• Research skills in academic context.
• Good organisational and communication skills. Proactive attitude.
• Experience in international cooperation and project management is an asset.
